Still not nervous!

11 days to go! I forgot to mention in my last post that it's like Christmas over here! There are new packages on the doorstep almost every day! Sometimes more than one! One day I came home and there were four giant boxes on our doorstep. It's been awesome. Today at work one of my patients gave us this gorgeous ceramic platter. I'm so in love with it! It's totally me, and she doesn't really even know me, you know? So thoughtful of her. She also gave us some macaroons from this great bakery in the area, but I ate them. Don't tell Ted.

I also bought myself a present! I've been a fan of Camilla Engman for a year or two now, but have never been able to get my hands on any of her prints because they always seem to be sold out. There was this one with a red fox that I was in love with. Well, the other day she put some more in my shop and I was able to score a four pack of her prints. So fabulous! Can't wait to frame and hang them!

In other news, it's hockey season! Yahoo! Ted and I kicked things off last Friday at the 'Canes v. Penguins game. Good times were had by all...it's good to see the boys back on the ice.

New Art.

I've been collecting a bunch of different prints to frame and hang throughout the house, and finally got a few more put up the other day.

This first one totally reminded me of living and going to school in London. I finished up 3rd grade there in the 80's and the majority of our curriculum focused on World War II. We learned quite a bit about propaganda and the local war campaign posters that talked about how "Careless talk costs lives."

I have been fascinated with the World War II era ever since and even took a Nazi Germany course in college. While surfing the internet a couple of months ago, I ran across this poster at this bookstore and was reminded of my days in London studying the war. I immediately purchased it and hung it in our "old time tribute" hallway outside of the loft.

There's a little history about the poster at this site, along with other products for sale with the slogan on them.

Ted and I have sort of a "Japanese Art" theme going on in our bedroom, and were thrilled to find some pieces to add to our collection at a poster store in Philly. As soon as Ted saw this print, he had to have it.

I am totally in love with Matte Stephens' art and have been eyeing his Etsy shop for awhile. I finally decided that I needed to get myself one of his prints before he totally blew up and I couldn't afford them anymore. Besides, he had this one of the coolest owl, and as y'all know, I've been into owls lately. Love it! I want so many of his prints...I really dig his style.

Happy Easter!

We don't have any specific plans for the weekend, which makes us wish we could be with our families for Easter. Although, my parents are apparently having "Easter Bunny Soup" for dinner on Sunday, made with fresh rabbit that my father got at the farmer's market, so I'm sort of glad I'll be missing out on that particular delicacy. At any rate, it's supposed to be "cold" here this weekend, which spoils my plans for a nice picnic on Sunday at the gardens, but we'll see how cold it actually gets. It won't be like last year, that's for sure...It think it was in the high 70's.

Anyway,Happy Easter to you and yours! Here's some pictures of my latest activity--needle felted eggs, as well as some new artwork and our growing Chia Pet!
